CLUB INIATIVES

For the fourth year in a row we will work towards gaining a Presidential Citation. This depends on many factors but, crucially, membership. It is our intention to end this rotary year with a net gain of 5 new members.

A Sports Dinner will take place again this February. Lots for auction are urgently needed as it is the auction which raises the most money.

The 4th Glencalvie Challenge will take place on 22nd May 2010. To date this event has raised £22,000 for local charities including RNLI, Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team and The Highland Hospice.

A Rainbow Trout Fishing Competition is to be organised to raise funds for Water Aid.

The club will

Develop and continue to implement the Club Leadership Plan

Continue to support the Marymas Fair, Kids Out,Dictionaries for Schools,Rotating Books and Stroke Awareness.

Continue to support educational projects in India,Malawi and Uganda. The biggest project will be the water project in Malawi together with Shoebox and the Elgin project in Nepal.

Arrange a series of mock interviews for school leavers,

Support the Rotary Youth Leadership Scheme.

Arrange a Star Quality Competition for young musicians.

Arrange vocational visits for members.

Raise awareness of the grants process and fundraise for the Rotary Foundation and the additional Polio Plus committment of a minimum of £500 per club.

Look at ways where Rotary and Rotarians can contribute to re-cycling, energy saving and reducing our carbon footprint.
