ROTARY CLUB - ATTENDANCE RULES

Fellowship, the essence of ROTARY, can only be achieved and fostered by the regular attendance at the weekly club meetings.  Aim to be a100% Rotarian.

RULES OF ATTENDANCE - The basic requirements and responsibility of a  member.

Each member must:
a.  Attend or “make up” at least 50% of the club regular meetings in each half of the Rotary year.
b.  Attend at least 30% of this club’s meetings in each half of the Rotary year.
c.  NOT miss 4 consecutive club meetings.

NOTES

1. Failure to attend as required above will lead to an automatic termination of the Rotary membership, unless good and sufficient reason has been accepted by the club council.
2. Members are encouraged to contact the Club President or Secretary should business or personal  circumstances pose attendance problems.
3. Absence from a regular club meeting may be “made up” by attendance at another club meeting on the day of absence or on any of the 14 days preceding or following that day.
4. Leave of absence can be applied for in case of illness, accident, etc. and if granted will be for a specific period. Members on leave of absence are encouraged to visit their own or another clubs whenever possible.

CLUB BANNERS

When a Rotary Club is visited for the first time by a  representative of our club, it is customary to exchange banners. Banners for this purpose can be purchased from the supplies officer for the sum of £8.00.

On return, any banner that a member received from the visited club should be presented to our Club President who will pass it on the the Banners Custodian. 

DUTIES OF SERGEANT AT ARMS

1. Arrive promptly by 17-50 complete with grace and raffle prize

2. Collect the garage key from reception and retrieve lectern,gavel,bell,cash tray,visitors book and raffle tickets. Put out notice board.

3. Ensure thatt the door team prepares the raffle tickests for draw.

4. Levy Fines as appropriate.

5. After meeting return all to cabinet in garage. Surplus magazines and newsletters should also be gathered up and placed in the filing cabinet.
