Improve Literacy "is one of the projects promoted by RIBI for this Rotary year.
The Community Service Committee are focussing their programme of activities for 2008 / 2009 in the Merkinch area largely because of the Club's interest in the Merkinch Local Nature Reserve.

The scheme is designed for year 7 primary pupils and we were able to provide a copy of The Usborne Illustrated Dictionary to each of the 24 pupils plus 4 copies for use in the School Library.

The Head Teacher, Fay Broadley was delighted with the idea and ,with her agreement,  
The Community Service Committee have given their commitment to provide the dictionaries for a further two years.
